Eaton appoints Paulo Ruiz as President of its Hydraulics Group

Eaton today announced that Paulo Ruiz has been named president, Hydraulics Group, effective April 1. He will be located in Eden Prairie, Minn., and will report to Uday Yadav, President and COO, Industrial Sector.

“Paulo is an ideal fit to lead Eaton’s Hydraulics Group into its next chapter,” Yadav said. “His strong customer focus, extensive operational experience and record of building talented teams in diverse operating environments will be highly beneficial to our business. I’m looking forward to working closely with him. He will be a great addition to Eaton’s senior leadership team.”

Ruiz joins Eaton after spending more than 18 years with Siemens serving in a variety of strategic positions around the world. Most recently, he was CEO of Dresser-Rand – A Siemens Business. In this position, he was responsible for integrating Siemens’ rotating equipment business within Dresser-Rand. Ruiz also ran the Bushings, Instrument Transformer and Coils business, Energy Transmission Division, and was director for the High Voltage Business Unit for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Prior to Siemens, Ruiz spent six years with Fiat, where he held roles in operations, commercial and engineering.

Ruiz has a master’s degree in business management from Fundação Dom Cabral in Brazil and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from FEI in São Paulo, Brazil. He also completed the post-MBA program from Kellogg School of Management at Fundação Dom Cabral and the Graduate Development Programme with Isvor Fiat in Turin, Italy.

Ruiz succeeds Curt Hutchins who will be leading the spin-off of Eaton’s Lighting business.
